Warehouse Operations Manager Responsibilities and Duties

  • Oversee daily warehouse operations, ensuring efficient, safe, and accurate handling of inventory, shipping, and receiving activities.
  • Maintain a clean and organized warehouse environment that meets company and safety regulations.
  • Supervise, train, and motivate warehouse staff to achieve productivity goals and foster a positive, team-driven culture.
  • Manage inventory control processes, including cycle counts, reconciliations, and database updates.
  • Coordinate inbound and outbound logistics with carriers and company departments to ensure timely product distribution.
  • Monitor and report on key warehouse metrics, implementing strategies for continuous improvement and cost reduction.
  • Collaborate with procurement, sales, and installation teams to ensure timely and accurate order fulfillment.
  • Identify and resolve operational issues while escalating complex concerns as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and occupational safety standards at all times.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

Required Skills for Warehouse Management

  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated experience in warehouse management, supply chain, or logistics roles.
  • Proficiency with warehouse management systems (WMS), inventory control software, and standard office applications.
  • Solid understanding of safety regulations, shipping/receiving protocols, and best practices in warehouse logistics.
  • Ability to coach, motivate, and develop diverse teams in a dynamic environment.
  • Problem-solving mindset with the capacity to anticipate and address operational challenges.
  • Attention to detail, accuracy, and a commitment to maintaining high standards of quality and productivity.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand or move throughout the warehouse for extended periods.

Education and Warehouse Experience Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required; associate or bachelor’s degree in supply chain, business, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years in warehouse management, logistics, or relevant supervisory experience.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation; forklift certification is a plus.
