Job Description
Step into a rewarding journey as a Travel Registered Nurse, Med Surg specialist, in Atlanta, Georgia. This opportunity is designed for clinicians who lead with compassion, precision, and curiosity, and who want to shape recovery stories while advancing their own expertise in a high-demand specialty. As you place patient care at the center of your practice, you’ll find a setting that values your voice, honors your skills, and invites you to grow through every shift. This assignment starts 12/15/2025 and offers weeks of opportunity with room for extension, giving you a clear path to continuity and advancement. Georgia’s charm extends far beyond the hospital walls: imagine strolling the historic streets of Atlanta, exploring vibrant arts and music scenes, and taking in the serene beauty of nearby landscapes. From the Blue Ridge foothills to the coast, Georgia offers a blend of city energy and natural wonders that make downtime feel like a retreat rather than a commute.
Working in Atlanta positions you at the heart of a thriving healthcare ecosystem, with access to leading facilities, interdisciplinary teams, and innovative patient care models. The city’s diverse communities provide rich experiences that sharpen clinical acumen and cultural competency, while the broader U.S. travel option gives you the flexibility to explore national best practices, collaborative networks, and new clinical challenges. You’ll benefit from the best of both worlds—the depth of a major metropolitan market and the broader exposure that comes from working across different locations, hospitals, and patient populations, all while keeping a steady rhythm of 36 guaranteed hours per week.
In Med Surg, you’ll play a pivotal role in comprehensive patient care. Your day-to-day responsibilities include thorough initial and ongoing assessments, monitoring vital signs, recognizing early changes in condition, and implementing timely interventions. You’ll manage medication administration, IV therapy, wound and drain care, and post-operative stabilization, while coordinating with physicians, case managers, and ancillary teams to develop and execute individualized care plans. Education and discharge planning will be a central theme as you empower patients and families with knowledge and confidence for continued recovery at home. You’ll document clearly and accurately, ensuring seamless handoffs during shift changes and contributing to continuous quality improvement initiatives. Your expertise will also be a valued resource for colleagues, with opportunities to mentor newer staff and lead initiatives that elevate patient safety and care standards. The role supports professional growth within the Med Surg specialty, offering exposure to diverse patient populations, complex cases, and leadership pathways that align with your long-term goals.
Competitive benefits accompany your clinical impact. In addition to a competitive weekly pay range of $1,496 to $1,606, you’ll find a sign-on bonus designed to welcome you into the team and acknowledge your expertise. Housing assistance is available to ease relocation or seasonal housing needs, and there are favorable options for contract extensions to help you build continuity in preferred units or facilities. You’ll be part of a system that understands the value of stability and progression, with opportunities to take on extended assignments that deepen your clinical repertoire and expand your professional network. As you travel, you’ll never face a solo journey; a dedicated support structure is available 24/7 to assist with scheduling, logistics, and clinical questions, ensuring you feel secure and empowered on the road.
The company’s values center on empowering staff to own their career trajectory. You’ll join an environment that prioritizes professional development, mentorship, and a supportive culture where questions are welcomed, feedback is constructive, and collaboration is the norm. You’ll have access to continuous education, on-site and remote resources, and a network of peers across units and specialties designed to accelerate your growth. The emphasis on advancement means you can chart a clear path from frontline Med Surg RN to higher levels of practice, leadership, or specialty certification, all while maintaining the balance that makes sustainable travel nursing possible.
Ready to apply? This is your chance to join a company that truly values your contribution and your professional development. If you’re a dedicated Registered Nurse with Med Surg experience and a passion for patient-centered care, we want to hear from you. Take the next step to experience Georgia’s warmth, Atlanta’s energy, and the national network of opportunities that come with a travel nursing career. Begin your journey on 12/15/2025, with assignments measured in weeks and the potential to extend as you demonstrate excellence in patient care and teamwork. Embrace a role that honors your skills, supports your growth, and celebrates the impact you make every day.
Please note: The hours and pay rates listed are estimates and may vary. Final compensation packages and guaranteed hours will be confirmed during the hiring process.
