Job Description

Homemakers Furniture is a leading home furnishings retailer committed to providing exceptional service and quality products. We are looking to add to our growing E Commerce Department! The SEO Specialist will work Monday - Friday onsite at Homemakers in Urbandale, Iowa. Job Summary: As an SEO Specialist at Homemakers, you will play a pivotal role in enhancing our online visibility and driving organic traffic to our ecommerce website. You will develop and execute comprehensive SEO strategies, create and optimize website content, and leverage advanced analytics tools to improve search engine and Large Language Model (LLM) rankings. Your work will ensure our products are easily discoverable, boosting customer engagement and conversions. The ideal candidate will have a strong analytical mindset, a passion for data-driven decision-making, and expertise in both technical and content-driven SEO best practices to elevate our digital presence.   Key Responsibilities: Conduct in-depth keyword research and analysis to identify high-value search terms for products and categories. Create and optimize website copy, including product descriptions, landing pages, and blog posts, aligning with SEO best practices and brand voice. Utilize AI tools to scale content creation efficiently while maintaining quality and relevance. Manage on-page SEO elements, including meta tags, headers, alt text, internal linking, and structured data (e.g., product schema, breadcrumbs) to enhance search visibility and rich snippets. Identify and resolve technical SEO issues, such as broken links, crawl errors, duplicate content, and page speed bottlenecks, to improve site performance. Optimize site structure, including URL structures, internal linking, and XML sitemaps, to enhance crawlability and indexability. Ensure the website adheres to Google’s mobile-first indexing requirements, optimizing for mobile usability and Core Web Vitals metrics. Utilize SEO tools (e.g., Google Analytics, SEMrush, Ahrefs, Google Search Console) to monitor performance, track rankings, and identify opportunities. Develop and implement link-building strategies to acquire high-quality backlinks and improve domain authority. Perform competitor analysis to identify keyword, content, and backlink opportunities, adjusting strategies to maintain a competitive edge. Monitor and analyze website traffic, user behavior, and conversion metrics, conducting A/B testing to optimize on-page elements and improve click-through rates. Education/Work Experience ~ A bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, information technology, or a related field is preferred.    Qualifications: Proven experience in SEO strategy development and execution, preferably in an e-commerce environment. Proficiency in SEO tools such as Google Analytics, Google Search Console, SEMrush, Ahrefs, Screaming Frog, or Moz. Strong understanding of keyword research, on-page and off-page SEO, and technical SEO is essential. Familiarity with content management systems, HTML/CSS, and schema markup for SEO purposes.
