Position Title: Registered Nurse – Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU)

Duration: 13 Weeks
Job Type: Contract | (3x12-Hour Day Shifts)
Pay Range (Local): $70 – $75 per hour
"Navitas Healthcare, LLC" is seeking Registered Nurse – Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) for an exciting job in New York, NY.
Deliver specialized nursing care to pediatric patients requiring intensive and critical care interventions.
Serve as a Nurse Preceptor for up to two (2) newly assigned RNs during orientation and training.
Educate and mentor preceptees in PICU best practices, safety standards, and clinical decision-making.
Evaluate preceptees’ clinical performance, provide guidance, and document progress.
Supervise and perform IV insertions, phlebotomy, and conscious sedation procedures as needed.
Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary care teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Uphold hospital policies, infection control standards, and federal/state regulations.
Maintain accurate, timely documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR).
Education:
Associate’s Degree in Nursing (ASN/ADN) required; Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
Experience:
Minimum of 2 years in Maternal and Child Health nursing.
Minimum of 2 years with IV insertion and phlebotomy.
Minimum of 2 years performing or assisting with conscious sedation.
Minimum of 5 years total relevant nursing experience, including Preceptor responsibilities.
Licensure & Certifications:
Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of New York .
AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) and AHA Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications required.
