As a Lead Pastry Cook at VERDE NYC, you will play a key role in executing and maintaining the high-quality pastry standards of our brand. You will oversee production in the pastry section, assist with training team members, and ensure that every dessert served meets our expectations for taste, presentation, and consistency.
Responsibilities:
Prepare, plate, and execute refined desserts following the group’s quality and consistency standards
Supervise, guide, and mentor pastry cooks, demi-chefs, and commis in the pastry section
Work closely with the Executive Chef and culinary team to ensure smooth kitchen operations
Maintain high standards of quality, creativity, and presentation in all dessert offerings
Follow strict hygiene, food safety, and cleanliness standards (HACCP)
Assist with menu development, dessert tastings, and evolving the pastry program
Support inventory management, ordering, and control of pastry ingredients
Requirements:
Proven experience as a Pastry Cook, Senior Pastry Sous Chef, or similar role in a high-end or fast-paced kitchen
Strong technical skills in classical and modern pastry, with a keen eye for flavor and presentation
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
Creativity, teamwork, and a passion for pastry arts
Solid understanding of hygiene and food safety regulations (HACCP)
Ability to work under pressure while maintaining quality standards
