Ambrosia Foods is a chef-driven catering company redefining what large-scale events can taste like. Born on a shoestring budget in 2020, we've grown into one of Chicago’s premier catering companies — serving everything from intimate 20-person boardroom lunches to 1,200-guest galas with style, detail, and flavor.
We're looking for an Executive Sous Chef to join our kitchen leadership team and help drive our next phase of growth. This is a full-time position reporting to our Executive Chef, taking over from our outgoing sous. We’re looking for someone who’s hungry to learn, eager to lead, and ready to grow with us.
What You’ll Do:Support the Executive Chef in managing all aspects of daily kitchen operations
Lead prep and execution for a wide range of events (drop-offs, buffets, plated dinners, and more)
Maintain excellence in food quality, kitchen organization, and team efficiency
Execute thoughtful, seasonal food inspired by global cuisines — we cook across cultures, always with nuance and detail
Ensure high standards of cleanliness, safety, and professionalism
This is a demanding but rewarding role. Weekly hours will average 45 , with two days off per week (days vary based on event schedule).
Compensation & Perks:Base salary: $67,200
Quarterly performance bonus :
$1,500 bonus if Ambrosia Foods hits $250K+ in sales in a quarter
$2,250 bonus if Ambrosia Foods hits $325K+ in sales in a quarter

Have at least 7 years of professional kitchen experience ( including a minimum of 3 years leadership experience )
