- Age: Must be at least 18 years old
- Education: High school diploma or GED.
- Citizenship/Residency: U.S. citizen or legal resident.
SCHEDULE, PAY and BENEFITS:
- Must be able to work nights, weekends, holidays.
- Schedule is a repeating two-week rotation.
Week 1: Work days are Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday (all shifts are 12 hours)
Week 2: Work days are Sunday (8 hours), Wednesday, Thursday (12 hours WandTh)
- Every other weekend off. - While the dispatcher will be assigned to a permanent shift, they are still expected to have the ability to work any other shift as necessary.
- Starting Pay is: $20.90/hour with annual step increases.

SKILLS and ABILITIES:
- Communication: Clear, calm, and professional verbal and written communication.
- Multitasking: Ability to listen, type, and communicate simultaneously.
- Decision-Making: Make quick judgments under pressure with limited information.
- Computer Proficiency: Comfort with computer use, and typing (minimum of 35 words per minute)
- Listening and Comprehension: Active listening and ability to extract critical details from callers in stressful situations.
- Stress Management: Stay calm and focused during emergencies.
- Teamwork: Work effectively with law enforcement, fire, and EMS.
PERSONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
- Integrity, Honesty and ethical judgment.
- Emotional resilience and empathy while maintaining professionalism.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in documentation
-Prior experience is not necessary. Full on-the-job training will be provided
- An extremely thorough background check will be performed to include criminal records check, motor vehicle record, personal references, all prior work experience, financial, medical, etc
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Be the primary processing point for virtually all telephone, radio, walk-in, and computer communications entering or leaving the Police Department/Dispatch Center.
- Coordinate all emergency and non-emergency response for all Public Safety.
- Complete other administrative duties as directed.
