Responsibilities of Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) or Home Health Aides (HHAs) Perform all personal care activities contained in a written assignment by the Registered Nurse (RN) which may include, but not be limited to, assisting the patient orclient with personal hygiene, ambulation, eating, dressing, shaving, andphysical transfer. Maintain a clean, safe, and healthy environment, which may includelight cleaning and straightening of the bathroom, straightening the sleeping andliving areas, washing the patients or clients dishes or laundry, and such tasks to maintain cleanliness and safety for the patient or client. Measuring intake and output of fluids, andmeasure temperature, pulse, respiration, or blood pressure. Keep records of personal health care activities. Observe appearance and gross behavioral changes in the patient or client,reporting to the Registered Nurse (RN). Requirements forCertified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) or Home Health Aides (HHAs) Education:High school diploma or GED preferred. Experience:A minimum of 1 yearof experience in home care is preferred. Licensure/Certification: Current, valid Florida CNA license OR 40-75 hour Home Health Aide Certificate Current BLS CPRCertification (obtained in-person, not online) TB Skin Test (PPD) or TB Blood Test (QF) Alzheimers training - 2 Hour DOEA Approved Course (provided at no cost if needed) 1- Hour DOEA Alzheimers Video (provided free of cost on DOEA website) Assistance with Self-Administration of MedicationCEU (minimum of 2 hours) HIV/AIDsCEU About Care Options for Kids Since the inception of our organization more than 20 years ago, weve always known home health care isnt simply about programs or services.
